Back when I worked in retail, a co-worker announced one day that he was making a run to Oki Dog, and would anyone like him to pick up something? Sure, I said, still innocent at that point of the fact that an Oki Dog contained two hot dogs, pastrami, chili beans, and melted cheese inside a giant flour tortilla. My usual diet being mostly coffee and Cheetos at that time, it made me sick (this is really an exaggeration: I was just pregnant and didn’t know it).

Don’t ask your co-workers if they want Oki Dogs. Be a hero and make a run to the Juice Garden instead. It’s a hidden gem serving some healthy stuff right on the corner of Archibald and Arrow, behind the Jack in the Box in Rancho Cucamonga.

Juice Garden's Storefront

The Juice Garden is run by patients of ours, the Reyes family. They arrive at the store early in the morning to bake, then stay open until 9:00 p.m. When you go in, don’t be shy if your Spanish is no good, just ask for the “Vampiro,” which is fresh carrot, celery, spinach, beets, and orange all juiced to order. Wow, detoxification to the max! Or, try the “Dietetico,” which has juiced pineapple, celery and parsley. I’ve been to some other juice shops in town where you just have to wonder if they really have fresh whole produce on hand, but you won’t wonder that here.

If you suffer from back pain, headaches, joint pain, or other ailments, remember that what you eat can definitely affect how you feel. Part of what I do as a chiropractor is to address the structural problems in your spine. The other part is to keep you informed about how our foods and environmental toxins can affect how we feel. If you are a Chiropractic Advantage patient, have fun supporting people like the Reyes Family at Juice Garden as part of your Healthier Lifestyle.
